When Hershel jumped to the ocean, he could not believe his eyes: this seething mass of salty water sparkling in the sun was striking in its grandeur! The dog began to grab the foam with his mouth, beat the water with his paws and jump for joy. A happy cry escaped from him, reminiscent of “Waaaaaaa!” Why should he not rejoice, because shortly before this event, Hershel had been chained for five whole years!

The history of this glorious German Shepherd began very sadly: the dog ended up in the house of people who did not spoil him with care and love. They put the dog on a chain, sincerely believing that they were doing everything right. “This is a guard, which means his place is on a leash!” – people reasoned, not realizing that Hershel, like any other dog, was not created to sit on a chain at the booth.

The pet knew this himself, and therefore desperately tried to escape. Later, when he was released by kind people, they saw that his teeth had been worn down. This meant that he was trying to chew through the chains in order to break free!

And then he was rescued and sent to a shelter, from where he was taken away, and then returned again, and this was repeated several times … The owners, to whom the dog got, said that he was aggressive, and refused to keep him at home. A little more, and the dog could be on the list of animals that no one wants to “adopt”. This would mean only one thing – euthanasia …

But soon a miracle happened: the dog became the hero of the TV show Dog’s Day Out! First they showed him the snow for the first time, and he was completely delighted, and then Rocky Kanaka (the host of the program) decided to take his pet to Los Angeles and show him the ocean!

Imagine Hershel’s surprise when he saw the waves breaking near the shore! He jumped up on his hind legs, howled with joy and barked! And then he jumped aside and ran along the embankment, along the sun-drenched path. A minute later, Hershel again rushed to the ocean and this time jumped into the cool water! It was only necessary to see how he jumped and splashed, clapping his paws on the waves! It is hard to believe that until recently this dog was on a chain, and today he conquers the oceans!

And by the way, now he has a new mistress – a girl named Kim! We really hope that this time the glorious dog will be lucky, and he will be surrounded by love and care!
