No one had ever before called a dog named Nellie brave. Just a few weeks ago, the words “frightened”, “shy” or “cautious” girl were used to describe a homeless pit bull.

But recently everything has changed. Six months ago, a shy dog ​​was adopted by a girl named Jane Taylor. And one day Nellie protected her from a rattlesnake while walking in a Texas state park.

Nelly wandered from shelter to shelter for a long time and was happy to finally be at home. When she got to Jane, she was a little chubby, and from this she looked very nice. The girl began to run with her pet in the morning, and soon she lost weight.

At first, the dog was afraid of loud sounds, people and animals. She protected all her toys and with caution allowed the owners to touch her. But thanks to Jane, the baby’s heart began to thaw.

When Nellie went camping with Jane, they encountered a rattlesnake. Before the girl could understand what was happening or take a step back, a dog jumped out from behind her and ended up on a snake!

The fight didn’t last long. Defending itself, the snake bit Nellie right in the face. Luckily, one of Jane’s friends who was camping reacted quickly and threw a jacket over the snake, saving the wounded dog.

The bitten Nelly no longer moved and could not walk, so her comrades carried her in their arms to the car.
