The first turtle in history with a shell created from a 3D printer. np
Freddy is the name that people give to the turtle trapped in a forest fire in Brazil, although saved, its ability to continue to live is very low. But thanks to the animal volunteer group “The Animal Avengers”, Freddy is not only healthy, but also honored to become the first turtle in the world to have a shell made of 3D printing technology.
“Freddy is the first turtle in the world to receive an artificial shell using 3D technology and also the first creature our newly formed animal rescue team helps,” said designer Cicero Moraes , said an employee of the Sao Paulo-based volunteer group.
Freddy the turtle with a 3D printed shell.
He designed Freddy’s shell by using a computer to create 3D images based on photos of the poor turtle.
He then sent them to Dr. Paulo Miamoto, an expert in oral surgery, who turned Moraes’ design into a real shell using a 3D printer.
As a result, as you can see, the turtle seems very pleased with his new “high-tech” shell. The Animal Avengers team did a great job, Tony Stark will definitely feel proud.
Freddy the tortoise was lucky to survive the forest fire.
But its shell was so badly damaged, a group of volunteers created a new shell for it using a 3D printer.
The new shell fits Freddy well, but it looks a bit boring.
So the group decided to decorate it to look as natural as possible.
Finally Freddy has a beautiful apricot.
The Animal Avengers is a “team” of four veterinarians, an oral surgeon and a 3D designer.
